Assistant Geomatics Surveyor (Ref: 70326)

Job Duties:

  • Assist Senior Land Surveyors/Land Surveyors in general management of projects relating to enhancing the digitalised

    workflow of Small Unmanned Aircraft (SUA) operations with Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS), system enhancement of

    the Road Defect Detection System (RDDS) and support the implementation of Automated Creation of Existing Conditions

    Modelling (AutoECM) in road construction and maintenance works, including steering the project implementation, ensuring

    achievement and quality of project deliverables;

  • Coordinate office procurement exercises relating to the above duties, such as conducting market research, preparing

    contract documents, participating in proposal evaluation and recommendation for offer acceptance;

  • Carry out liaison and coordination with Government bureaux and departments (B/Ds), suppliers and services providers to

    explore on opportunities for collaboration regarding innovative application of surveying in relation to the above duties; and

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by his/her supervisors and to share other workload.

 

Employment Terms:

  • 5 days’ work, Mondays (except Public Holidays) 0900-1800 , Tuesdays – Fridays (except Public Holidays) 0900-1745,

    normally 44 hours per week (including lunch break);

  • Work location: Meinhardt offices or government department.

 

Requirements:

  • A qualification recognized by the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) as satisfying the academic requirements for

    corporate membership in the Land Surveying Division;

  • Completed a 2-year graduate training scheme recognized by the HKIS or equivalent;
  • Have Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the HKDSE or HKCEE or equivalent;
  • Knowledge of and possession of experience in Geographic Information System (GIS) and application development will be

    advantageous;

  • With communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities;
  • Good command of spoken and written English, Chinese and Putonghua;
  • Prefer immediately available.

Land Surveyor (Ref: 70226)

Responsibilities:

  • Administering a Geospatial Services and Land Survey Division;
  • Carrying out / checking all survey and mapping work;
  • Undertaking geographical information system related spatial data collection, input, updating and analysing work;
  • Supervising the preparation and production of survey plans and writing of survey reports;
  • Responsible for preparation of tender submissions;
  • Management of sub-contractors; and
  • Training and supervising junior

Requirements:

  • Degree in Geomatics / Land Surveying and Geoinformatics, from a Hong Kong polytechnic university, or equivalent;
  • Holder of a Chartered Membership professional status (e.g. HKIS, RICS) or equivalent as recognized by Land Surveying Ordinance
  • At least 5 years post-qualification professional training and working experience in the related field;
  • Met the language proficiency requirements of “Level 2” or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;
  • Knowledge of and possession of experience in Geographical Information System (GIS) and Building Information Modelling (BIM) would be an advantage;
  • Self-motivated, logical and systematic thinker;
  • A good team player with interests to work in a diverse and dynamic international culture;
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.

Survey Officer (Ref: 70325)

Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out land and engineering surveying tasks including field surveying, computing, data

    processing and plan preparation;

  • Producing land and engineering survey products using advanced electronic survey

    instruments and computer applications;

  • Undertaking geographical information system related spatial data collection, input, updating and

    analysing work;

  • Assisting in the training of junior staff.

(Notes: A Survey Officer may be posted to construction sites, the normal working hours Mon to Sat from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., required to work shifts or irregular hours, perform emergency survey duties, work in any part of Hong Kong and work outdoor in heavy traffic, hilly and remote areas, and in inclement weather conditions.  They may also be required to carry heavy survey equipment in rugged terrain.)

 

Requirements:

  • Higher Diploma in Geomatics / Land Surveying and Geoinformatics, or a Diploma / Higher

    Certificate in Land Surveying and Cartography, from a Hong Kong polytechnic university / polytechnic,

    the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a technical college / technical institute, or equivalent;

  • Met the language proficiency requirements of “Level 2” or above in Chinese Language and English

    Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong

    Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;

  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of using ARCGIS, AutoCAD and / or point clouds processing would be an advantage.
