Ir Prof. Adam Choy 

Managing Director – Civil & Structural

Ir Prof. Adam Choy brings over 40 years of experience in civil and structural engineering design and project management for large-scale multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. Since joining Meinhardt in 1996, he has led landmark developments including the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park Phase 2, the Central Government Office at Tamar, major healthcare projects such as the Children’s Hospital and Kai Tak Hospital, and numerous public housing and institutional projects. His expertise encompasses innovative construction methodologies including MiC, DfMA, top-down construction, and deep basement engineering. As Managing Director, he ensures the successful delivery of complex projects through meticulous planning, design optimisation, and rigorous construction monitoring.

Adam is at the forefront of driving technological innovation, appointed by the Company as Chairman of the AI Committee and Chairman of the Structural Sub-Committee of the R&D and Innovation Committee (RDIC), leading the adoption of artificial intelligence to streamline design processes, enhance productivity, and improve planning, project management and administrative operations.

Adam is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (FHKIE), the Hong Kong Concrete Institute (FHKCI), and a Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE) and the Institution of Engineers, Australia (MIEAust). He is a Registered Structural Engineer, Registered Professional Engineer (Structural), Chartered Engineer, and a 1st Class Registered Structural Engineer of the PRC. He currently serves as Adjunct Professor at the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi).

Adam has made significant contributions to the engineering profession through his extensive public service. He served as an Elected Council Member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, a Board Member of the Engineers Registration Board, Chairman of the Building Division (2012–2013), Chairman of the Public Relations Committee, and Chairman of the Structural Engineers Registration Committee (SERC) Panel under the Buildings Department until the end of 2025. He is a past President of the Hong Kong Concrete Institute (2018–2022) and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Civil and Architectural Engineering Society – Professional Committee on Building Materials.
